Theres this question i've always asked myself yet due to some forsaken reason i forgot it .. but after watching both Bruce and Evan Almighty i finally remembered that question.. and the questions is...

Does God have a sense of humor??

i did some googling and this was wat i found.. hope u guys find it interesting

Perhaps the best indication that God does have a sense of humor is that He created man in His image (Genesis 1:27), and certainly people are able to perceive and express humor. The American Heritage Dictionary defines a “sense of humor” as “...The ability to perceive, enjoy, or express what is comical or funny.” According to this definition, then, God must show an ability to perceive, enjoy, or express what is comical. The difficulty is that people perceive what is comical differently, and what sinful man perceives as funny would not amuse a holy and perfect God. Much of what the world calls humor is not funny but is crass and crude and should have no part in a Christian’s life (Colossians 3:8). Other humor is expressed at the expense of others (tearing down rather than building up), again something contrary to God’s Word (Colossians 4:6; Ephesians 4:29).

An example of God's humor is the instance in which the Israelites were using the Ark of the Covenant like a good-luck charm in taking it to battle, and the Philistines ended up capturing it and placing it in their temple before their idol of Dagon. They came into the temple the next day and found Dagon flat on his face before the ark. They set him back up. The next morning, there he was again, but this time he had his hands and head cut off as a symbol of his powerlessness before the God of the ark (1 Samuel 5:1-5). God’s putting Dagon in a position of submission to His ark is a comical picture.

This incident is an example of God laughing at the foolishness of those who would oppose Him. “See what they spew from their mouths— they spew out swords from their lips, and they say, ‘Who can hear us?’ But you, O LORD, laugh at them; you scoff at all those nations” (Psalm 59:7-9). Psalm 2 also reveals God laughing at those who would rebel against His kingship (verse 4). It is like the comical picture of a kindergarten-aged child being upset at his parents and running away from home...all the way to his neighbor’s house. But there is obviously a serious side to this as well, and although the picture of weak and silly man trying to match wits with an almighty and all-knowing God is comical, God takes no delight in their waywardness and its consequences but rather desires to see them turn around (Ezekiel 33:11; Matthew 23:37-38).

A person does not crack jokes in the presence of one who has just lost a close loved one; silly jokes are out of place on such occasions. In the same way, God is focused on the lost and is looking for those who will care for their souls as He does. That is why our lives (while having times of refreshing and humor) are to be characterized by “soberness” (seriousness about making our lives count for Christ) (1 Thessalonians 5:6,8; Titus 2:2,6).

So i guess in a way.. God has a sense of humour.. haha
Well although Bruce/Evan Almighty was only a show but there were a few things i picked up from the show which i think is quite relevant:

1. If God asked you to do something... u jolly well do it
2. If you pray for something ...example patience, God doesnt zap u with patience.. he gives u the opportunity to be patient.
3. In the movie, God(Morgan freeman) could be anyone at any place.. and in a little similar way.. i believe that sometimes we inexplicably find ourselves in place of God.. We could happen to be somewhere at the right time to do something or that certain someone.. or vice versa have someone at the right time at the right place when we are in need. Am i making sense?? haha

not too bad for a movie that i thought would be a flop =)

Which was probably in the year 2001.. tat trip was probably the most memorable trip i made overseas .. and to me.. it was the start of some of the best friendships i have ever made.

SUEEEE!!!!!!! I always remembered that my first impression of u was that ure old.. and i was right!! u ARE old... well older than me by a mth hahahaha... but honestly ure just a wonderful person .. i never knew any other person that i had more ups and downs with other than this lady here. but in a weird sense after every down our friendship always became stronger than before! I thank you for always enduring my criticism and being tat ever present movie kaki~ for teaching me the French horn even when i made u angry and for just being that wonderful person that u are.

Heh honestly .. the change in you has taken me aback ... seriously.. i mean the first time i met u .. u were this kinda introverted girl, i seriously never thought that you would become who u are today haha.. U go hiking all over South east Asia, u got a boat license and can go around sailing, u even went to Kazakhstan to evangelise and korea for a conference. im so glad for u that u have come to know Christ although its due to a misadventure in your life.. but im sure that its for the better and that its just in God's plan. I see alot of potential in you to be a church planter in the future!! hahaha .. thank you for being such a blessing in my life =)

YOU! MY FRIEND!.. are my role model... ure like this living testimony of the fat boy turned hunk and as much as i would like to have that kinda success story, my tummy is against it. Ever since Zalee left us.. ure the only guy left in our small clique i could really bond with and your humour and sarcasm is really at a whole nother level. But above all else.. thanks for being that crapping friend in the band hahahaha!

You know... i just realised that in this clique that i have... im the most musically retarded out of the group.. Sue is a horn goddess, Nic is a Clarinet prodigy and Jess can play the keyboard/piano as though it were part of her... now... if onli i could sing... we could kinda sorta make a band of our own huh.. THINK ABOUT IT GUYS!

The forked road

We always have a choice.. whether it be good or bad or easy or hard.. we have a choice.

If u were that person in that forked road.. which road would u take?? the one that leads to nice green forest?? or the one into the dark gloomy one??

Although its such a given question.. i pondered upon my answer.. i pondered on my actions ive done today. Should i study? or should i play? Should i do my quiet time? or should i sleep in more today?

2 simple decisions... u know which one is the right one and yet u pick the other. u stand at the forked road... and u pick the one that leads to the sunshine..

but that road to the sunshine isnt always the right path.. indeed its the devil's work at hand, after so many eons and training in the temptation of humans. The evil ones have come out with so many ways to tempt us and they are becoming very efficient at it.

All the devil needs to do is show u a picture of this forked road, on one hand u know u can have fun and dance around, on the other all u see is hard work and slogging. What u see is the immediate and not the long term, then before u know it the law of nature sets in.. everything in this universe abides by this.. we follow the path of least resistance.

Its a challenge.. but remember this my friends.. we were given free will by God... our choices are not limited by what this world sets for us, our choices are only limited by ourselves. We have the ability to take the path of more resistance even when nature itself cannot defy this law!!

Of course.. this whole session is not about telling u to always take the path of most resistance. but the message i wanna bring across is that... sometimes .. that forked path that we face is not as simple as it seems.. we must learn to discern

Which road is truely the better route... maybe the next time we meet that situation, we will ponder about it before taking it.

Eventful day indeed

Today started out Good!... with all confidence in my coms test i went for it in high spirits!! but only a few minutes went by after i stepped out of my house my bus zoomed passed me and the next bus was at least 15 min away..
I looked at my watch and it was already 1.45pm .. Time of Test 2pm... *gulp*

But i figured hey it aint too much of a biggy, i mean with the 10 min perusal and 15 mcq questions.. its not gonna take me long.. so by the time i reached the psych building and started my test i was still.... kinda alrite... till i flipped the paper..

OMG he changed so many questions.. and i was kinda panicking in my seat.. wat to do wat to do ... i did my bestest i could and i walked out with a big down..
then as per usual .. the asian students would stand outside and discuss the questions and blablabla... figuring i could make myself feel better i joined in to learn that i made a few mistakes in the exam =_=

But at least i knew i got most right... i guess.. and i managed to ask my friend about some questions regarding the exam that i was to do the next day! so i took out my pencil box and started scribbling on this piece of paper .. so after asking all my questions i left school with more knowledge on how to do the next paper WOOT!
I was kinda happy knowing that i had one less thing to study for.. and felt kinda happy but that was till i reached home..

After i reaching back, i immediately set up my nerdy corner to study and while unpacking.. i noticed something missing.. something really dear to me.. it was my mashi maro pencil case... I was frantic .. it had all my favourite stuff.. my fav pen, my fav highlighter and most of all that small metallic mashi maro pencil case (yes sean actually carries a mashi maro pencil case around school at the ripe old age of 23.. but before u start laughing hysterically ..i just wanna clarify that the pencil box has a sentimental value to it).



i couldnt study or concentrate on my work.. that pencil case really meant alot and i lost it! so retracing my steps i figured out that i left it in the psych building. thoughts raced through my mind.. and suddenly i thought.. k there still might be a chance someone is still in school that could help me get it and after going through all the psych students i know that would MOST PROB be in the building i decided to DFD (dial for Diana).

She didnt pick up at first and i was going nuts at that point.. half thinking i should go back and get it.. then suddenly after wat felt like eternity.. she rang back!!!

To cut a short conversation shorter.. she didnt find the pencil case.. but she went to ask the office about it and LO AND BEHOLD!! IT WAS THERE!!! I was sooo happy i jumped for joy and shouted WOOHOO!! i gave her a thank you message and suddenly after all my worries were lifted.. it was back to 100% concentration on studies!

But good things were never meant to last.. i got a msg from Diana after tat saying.. Read my blog ... i figured that it wasnt good but i was kinda in the midst of having a farewell dinner with a friend. After things quietened down.. i sneaked into my room.. logged onto my comp and suddenly my heart dropped.. Hostage was the first word i saw.. =_=



Nows not the time to complain though... Gotta study...

Spirit Wings

Today i was chatting with miranda and we just so happen to talk about old hymn songs and i just got reminded of this hymn i used to sing.. i could never find it in mp3 form and have only sung it once.. but it impacted me alot... its called spirit wings and it was written by a quadriplegic named Joni..

The song is just wonderful. it reminds me of my past and what i should do when all odds are against me.
